There has been increasing discussion nationally about potential reforms to the SEND system. Many families have understandably expressed questions and concerns about what these changes could mean for children and young people with SEND.
We would like to invite parents and carers to an information and discussion session where we will explore what is currently known, discuss key issues, and provide an opportunity for families to share their views and concerns. These will take place in our school’s SENHub: 1-2pm or 5-6pm 19th October.
As our Headteacher, James Waller, is a member of the DfE SEND Expert Panel and School Minister’s Complex Needs Group, we are keen to ensure that the experiences and perspectives of families help inform the national discussions we contribute to.
This is not a Department for Education consultation and we cannot share information currently under development or promise particular policy outcomes. However, we are in the unusual position of being able to take the lived experiences, concerns and priorities of families directly into a number of national SEND policy discussions. We therefore see this session as an important opportunity to ensure that parental voices from across our region are heard and represented.
You do not need to be a parent of a child that attends Sunningdale School to attend this session.
We hope you will join us.
Please book here.
