Class Structure
The children within school are organised into classes primarily according to age but on occasions according to identified ‘need.'
The school currently has eight classes across three key stages: 2 classes within the Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery/Reception)-aged 3-5years 2 Key Stage 1 classes-aged 5-7 years 4 Key Stage 2 classes-aged 7-11 years These may vary according to the cohort of pupils attending Sunningdale School at any given time. Each class has a team of staff (teacher/curriculum support workers) who lead and manage the teaching and learning in each class alongside ensuring that the personal and social needs of the individual child are met. We have 3 senior teachers who each lead a key stage or part of a key stage (Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2) The school also hosts an Enhanced Portage provision for children with complex additional needs under 3 years of age. These children attend on a part-time basis (see Portage link).
