Class 4 - Zoe Bulch
Class 4 - Zoe Bulch
Autunm term 1. 2012.
This term Class 4 have been involved in lots of different activities and experiences, relating to our theme ‘country’.
We began by exploring the ‘Town’. It was very busy! We saw lots of different shops, buildings, vehicles and people. The children enjoyed using their picture lists to spot the various features of the town and taking photographs of what they could see.
We then began exploring the countryside. We enjoyed a visit to a farmer’s fields full of crops and an allotment where we could all be farmers for the afternoon!
Back at school we enjoyed reading the stories 'The Scarecrow' and ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. We followed clues to go on our very own scarecrow and bear hunt!
Class 4 have also enjoyed exploring the outdoors to develop their understanding of number, colour, shape and space. We are very good at finding ‘3 red leaves’ and ‘2 shiny stones’. We collected lots of natural resources and had fun finding out all about them. We decided to make ‘ice sculptures’ with the natural materials we collected. We hung our creations from the trees, but when we went back to see them later, they had melted!
Before the half term holiday we had a class Halloween party. We dressed up and played party games such as pass the parcel and spooky corners! We are very good at taking turns.
Next half term, Class 4 are looking forward to our topic ‘Projects’. We will be looking at different sculptures in our local area and will be very busy making some of our own!

Autumn Term 2. 2012.
Our topic this half term is 'Projects'. We have been very busy getting ready for the Winter Festival, designing and making candle holders and coasters to sell at the Fayre!
We enjoyed using different kinds of materials and tools to complete our designs. We even visited shops and the 'Glass Centre' to help us to think of new ideas.
We looked at lots of different patterns. Spots, stripes and swirls. We tried to copy them when we got back to school.
On the day of the Fayre everyone was very impressed with what we had made, we enjoyed taking turns 'being the shopkeeper' and counting the money into the till as our families and friends bought our goods.
Spring term 1. 2013.
Happy New Year everyone! This half term our topic is 'Water'. We have enjoyed visiting lots of different places to look for water. We went to see the harbour, seaside and to feed the ducks in the pond.
At school we went on a hunt for water. We found water in the bathrooms and in the Technology room. We used our IPad to record the sound that water makes.
We enjoyed discovering the different uses for water. We bathed a toy doll, brushed our teeth and even washed the school bus!
Next half term Class 4 will be looking at lots of different types of books and wearing fancy dress for 'World Book Day!'
