Remote Education

Attendance is mandatory for all pupils of compulsory school age, and we cannot overemphasise the importance and impact of pupils being able to access the highly specialised provisions available at Sunningdale, and the support they receive from our highly skilled staff. We will always do everything in our power to facilitate pupils’ ability to attend in any situation.

We do, however, recognise that there may be circumstances when in-person attendance is not possible, e.g., occasions when individual pupils, for a limited duration, are unable to physically attend school but are able to continue learning, for example pupils recovering from complex medical procedures.

In these circumstances, a home learning package will be created by the pupil’s class teacher. Our Senior Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Leanne Watson, will work collaboratively with families, deliver resources, and carry out weekly home visits to support parents and carers so that pupils’ needs can be most effectively met to ensure they continue to make progress.

Class teams will support and monitor learning via the home/school diary.

If you are aware of any upcoming events which may lead to the requirement for home learning support, please let us know.
